4.0 out of 5 stars harrowing experiences of a young nurse in the Vietnam War, 31 July 2001
This review is from: Home Before Morning: The Story of an Army Nurse in Vietnam (Paperback)
Really gripping book, I read it almost without stopping. I have read a lot of books about the Vietnam War but this story of a young pretty nurse plunged into this war was extremely gripping. Like many Vietnam vets she suffered even years after her return and one can understand why after reading this book. Not a book for the squeamish, but books about war never are.

5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent Vietnam memoir, 6 Feb 2006
By A Customer
This review is from: Home Before Morning: The Story of an Army Nurse in Vietnam (Paperback)
I have read many Vietnam history books and this is one of the very, very best. I read it in two days flat. Beautifully evocative, balanced and moving, it really takes you there. I only wish the author were still alive; I would love to write and tell her how memorable this book is. A really valuable tribute to those who served and a fascinating personal history, which also covers the problems faced by those who returned to the US after leaving the war zone.
