Four friends share a house, but each aspires to travel somewhere else to see the world and experience new places. When they can't agree on a place to go, each storms off on his or her own, taking a part of the house with them. The friends realize their house was more fun when it was intact and when the friends were together - when it was "home." They reconcile and re-build their house, with some modifications, so they can see the world and still be together.
I received a review copy from the publisher and the first thing I noticed was that the illustration style reminded me of Lauren Child, the author of the popular Charlie and Lola books (and Disney TV series). That style works well for this story, showing different settings where each of the four friends go to experience the world. Overall, it is a great story of cooperation, compromise and "family." I think this would be a good classroom book to use as an illustration of these ideas.
