Product Description

A hot summer day in New York City gives Conor O'Neil no warning of the nightmare which is about to engulf him. After witnessing a fatal robbery, Conor is wrongfully arrested for the crime by a bent cop and immediately goes on the run, fearing for his life. He discovers that an eerie pair of stage hypnotists, a fervent Southern Baptist, and a very sinister televangelist are involved in the heist, the proceeds of which are to fund something unthinkable yet all too possible.

Conor's desperate need to clear his name takes him on a terrifying trip to a distant and hostile land, where he must use all of his remaining strength to survive the most deadly weapon of all...

4.0 out of 5 stars 'Real' horror -and all the scarier for it. 14 Mar 2004
Format:Hardcover
We all know there are biological weapons out there that could be used to kill millions. We all know there are people out there who would use anything to get their own way. What would happen if the two came together -and nobody would believe the only man who knows what's happening- is the basis for this gripping thriller.
Accused of a robbery he didn't commit -and can't remember much about - security guard and ex-cop Connor O'Neil follows a trail that leads to the ultimate horror -biological terrorism.
Gathering an unlikely band of helpers along the way, and using the almost magical properties of hypnotism and mesmerism, O'Neil may ultimately be the only man who can save the world.
With a likeable hero pitted against all too plausibly real villians, Graham Masterton has written a terrific novel which, although moving away a little from his more usual supernatural style, should please both his usual fans and attract a new audience.

1.0 out of 5 stars Not the page turning storey i was expecting 26 Feb 2014
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
Having read many of his books this is the worst , pathetic even.
The editing is bad, spelling mistakes even worse and quite distracting. I was nowhere near the edge of my seat as in the others. Did someone write it and use his name????
For once I could not wait for the end.....

5.0 out of 5 stars lee wright. 1 Jun 2013

A great read as all Masterton's novels are, exciting and fast moving, read it all in a couple of hours; so wish it had been longer and the ending just a little more finished. It tailed off a little towards the end. This seems to be a trait with modern writers of the horror genre.

5.0 out of 5 stars different in good way 21 May 2013
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
It is not the usual book written by GM, no ghosts and haunted places etc. Book full of action and interesting plot.
Would recommend if you love GM and want to read something different.

xx
