This is nothing that hasn't been done before by Scar Symmetry. It's a solid album - there are a couple of tunes that made me stop to listen, but nothing in the vein of 'The Illusionist'. The vocals are once again good, with a nice mix of Jon Bon Jovi 'clean' and Glen Benton death growls, but the vocals aren't grandiose or ambitious enough to rival 'Pitch Black Progress'.

Scar Symmetry have introduced some intersting electronic sounding backing vocals to certain tracks that really sound out of place. I'm not entirely sure they work yet. It reminds me a bit of Fall Out Boy (but with balls). They are catchy enough, and i'm sure they'll grow on me...

Again, a good album, but nothing they haven't done already - and better - on their previous two albums. If you like the Gothenburg sound, Scar Symmetry are band worth a look, but really, i'd spend your hard earned cash on the second release, 'Pitch Black Progress'. If your already a fan you won't need my review because like me, you'll have bought this album blind based on the songs this band are capable of writing.

Enjoy people, one of the better bands to come out of metal.

This band is one of those that shine out with classy metal! They have put together a great quality record. I love the bionic sort of element to them...they sound almost machine like one moment, the next moment the you could swear you'rlistening to some anthemic 80's rock band...really love all there stuff. all the albums are worth the money...and you'll find yourself singing along after a lil while!

scar symmetry continue their trend of mixing death like growls with polished soaring clean vocals that portray a band that are filled with ideas and a keen ear for pop music thats drenched in the melodid death made famous by their country of birth.
As third albums go,this is another triumph,thats three great albums,this may be even be the best but thats a debate for another day perhaps.
Someone has clearly told lead vocalist christian that he has a great singing voice as its very prominent here and some of the catchy melodies remind me of a 80s pop band,huey lewis and the news is one that springs to mind,or indeed tears for fears,its that addictive at times.
I find that the ten minute track,'holographic universe' is a little big in scope for the band but it is hardly a howler,a great album from a band that deserve a wee push in the metal community,do your bit!
