Don't waste your money on this one! It's highly over priced for an old 1962 black and white television documentary (45 mins). The information narrated by Henry Fonda of the history of Hollywood films from the 'silents' to the 'talkies' is OK, but we've seen it all before and since, on higher quality DVDs.
The DVD is a transfer from a VHS tape and is complete with 'picture roll' due to creases in the old VHS video tape. The original VHS tape looks to be transferred from a very dirty 16mm reversal print. When the print was transferred to tape in the first instance, one would have thought the film print would have been cleaned or at least run through 'pic clear' to diminish in-grained scratches and debris. At times, all you can see are the actor's eyes, the rest is washed out. Also most of the film clips are cropped at the top, so in many scenes you see from the chin down. The original playout title cards and music to commercial breaks has been left in.
It would not have been a great bargain at £3 - but £10 - no way.
