Really enjoyed this book which is actually quite substantial in size.
I was so pleased that ,unlike similar books or movies (Marky Mark!), the main characters in the book did not flip to grunge! Fun party rock is in your blood and you can't let go and simply 'switch teams'!
The book was funny and carried an air of innocent mischief. It never got tacky, sleazy or sewer level crüde! I'm sure they could have written a book like that bit I'm pleased it was fun throughout.
Thanks for writing the book boys and being part of my life for a month!
Now I must book that trip to Hollywood! See you on the Rainbow!

I've been making my way through various musicians/sunset strip related biographies and I have to say, after stumbling upon this by chance, it's one of the most insightful, entertaining and captivating. With this book you can expect to read the true dirt and real LA life for an up and coming musician as opposed to the whole millionaire lifestyle you would read in any Ratt/Crue biographies.
My only problem was it wasn't strictly chronological.
Well worth a read for anyone fascinated by that whole era/movement

I made it through about 25% of this thing, and gave up. Repetitive, poorly written, and so full of semi-believable stories that it got really old really quick. Save your money.

HASH(0x97eba078) out of 5 stars It's only Rock 'n' Roll Baby.... 9 Jan. 2013

I was so excited to read this book. True tales of life in Hollywood during the heyday of the Sunset Strip?!?! Yes, please!! I hung out with many bands during this time. Signed, unsigned, local, national...These are the types of hi-jinx that went on. Band guys can be a little crass but there was never a dull moment and always a good time. This book transported me back to some of the best times of my life. Chicago was my Hollywood. I was lucky enough to make it out to Hollywood once, but Rock n' Roll was about more than a location...It was a state of mind. Vinnie Vegas & Cupkake did a fantastic job of setting the scene and I would recommend this to anyone who lived the lifestyle or dreamed of living the lifestyle. After all, it's only Rock n' Roll baby! \m/

HASH(0x94b2760c) out of 5 stars Bordeline pathetic 7 Aug. 2013

Let me start by saying that I am more than an 80s Hollywood glam rock aficionado, and that I absorb ANYTHING from that era so it is difficult to imagine a better predisposed reader. This book is so poorly written it is sad - there is no rhyme or reason to this weird concoction, no storyline, no hooks, nothing more than a "I got drunk and tried to get into some girl's pants while pretending to be a rock musician". This is stream-of-unconsciousness writing with no spell check: a tale written by a teenager in heat rather than a reminiscing adult. Grab Pearcy's bio and steer clear of this piece of junk - what a waste of paper...

HASH(0x94a00ae0) out of 5 stars Good Fun Book about Rock-N-Roll 21 May 2011

I giggled the entire time during this read. Fun to hear there are bands that have a good time on the road. I wish I could have lived in Hollywood in the 80's. This book gives me a snapshot of what went on in the 80's. I like digital version, but loved the hard copy with all the photos!!! Most normal readers most likely won't enjoy this reading because it tells stories about what happens in Hollywood. I like that the writer was candid and makes fun of himself. Rock on!!!!

HASH(0x9516fc9c) out of 5 stars Horrible 13 Dec. 2012
By J. M. Miller - Published on Amazon.com

This book kept popping up on my Amazon suggestions, so I finally decided to purchase it. This is typically the type of book that I enjoy reading, but it was awful! The spelling and grammar are atrocious. The stories told are repetitive and boring. The two authors try so hard to come off funny and adventurous, but instead are rather boring. To sum up the book, they drank --constantly, yet remember every single detail of all of their "shenanigans ". They were in fairly unknown bands, they dressed outrageously and they hung out on the strip. The majority of their tales involve vomit, using the bathroom, throwing food at people, not liking women who would willingly have sex with them and not liking the ones who wouldn't . The boys come off as extremely immature, sexist and overall pretty stupid. I make a habit of trying to finish every book I buy, but this felt like a chore. No sex, drugs and rock 'n roll here -just a bunch of posers. Save your money.
