I'm a native of Hollywood and I'm always looking for photos of the old place. This has a lot of photos I haven't seen before, but it's still a bit unsatisfying as it leaves out a lot of domestic architecture, the kind I grew up with. A good introduction though.

For someone out of town, actually out of the country, this whole series of books is great! It covers the history of the vcarious places in Tinsletown with pictures that one would not be able to find anywhere else. Mr. Wanamaker is a godsend for keeping the historical background of Hollywood alive.
