5.0 out of 5 stars Don't book a short break BEFORE you read this book!!, 25 Jun 2005
This review is from: Holiday Courses For Long Weekends And Short Breaks: A Guide To The Best Holiday Courses And Workshops In The UK & Ireland (Holiday Reference) (Paperback)
A well laid out and easy to read guide book. The courses detailed give you lots of ideas for a short break throughout the country. The idea being: go away for a couple of days, chill, relax and do something completely new! The photography is eyecatching and inspiring. A great close up of a Handbag woven from English bulrushes caught my eye and I couldn't resist booking onto the course. I had a fab time and the course was exactly as described.

This review is from: Holiday Courses For Long Weekends And Short Breaks: A Guide To The Best Holiday Courses And Workshops In The UK & Ireland (Holiday Reference) (Paperback)
Why bother with normal holidays if you can go on a course as well. People can get bored of what they have in life. I believe that happens when they forget to challenge themselves by learning something new. It is also hard to mentally separate the years unless you go somewhere different and learn something new each year.

A course could be combined with a longer holiday and other activities to get a real feeling for a location.

'Holiday courses for long weekends and short breaks'. Whether you want to learn the basics in French cuisine, how to make shoes, paint, taste wine, or carve stone this book is a good place to start.

However, remember that this book was published in 2005 so some information may be out of date. I hope that they bring out an updated version soon.
