Event hough this came fro Hong Kong, it arrived promptly. The holder works as described and it is heck of a lot easier than my previous attempts to simply grip thae watch in my hand. I wish I'd got it earlier, before I scratched the watch back. Used in combination with a watch spanner (also bought through Amazon) turning the back is quite easy - I say "turning" not removing, because the watch I'm trying to get into now is proving a little stubborn. Now I've this device it is turning easily enough, but it seems reluctant to actually open. But that isn't the fault of this clamp.

The problem with buying 'cheap stuff' is that you never really know whether it will be what the picture shows. Not for this though. While not the best looking thing in the world, it's a perfectly suited for the job it's responsible for. It can extend quite far for those 'big' watches you have, and can fit snuggly around your small watches. It's a well built piece of kit, it's not going to fall apart within the first few uses.

The only time you may struggle is if you have a watch with massively curved strap arms, because then the gripping...'pegs' will find it difficult to hold on. So bear that in mind. The unit is fat enough to be held by a table vice also, which really helps with the more intricate repairs. If you're still trying to grip onto watches with greasy, angry hands while you're trying to take the back off, please do yourself a favour and buy this!

Thank's for reading.

This little item fits into a small bench vice or can be fixed directly onto a workbench. It is manufactured of a resinous PVC that is soft but also firm to the touch. It holds watch cases firmly without causing damage. Like it a lot.

This is a handy tool for holding a watch while you take the back off. I have a tool to remove the screw off backs of watches but was having some trouble holding the watches. This does the job well although it does press on some adjuster buttons on some watches. It came from China, so delivery was slow. My girlfriend is Chinese and if I had known this came from her city and in fact district, I would have got one the next time I visit her. :-)

Saved the cost of a jeweller shop bill as local ironmongers and shoe repair shops could not get back off my watch used for two completely different watch backs. Posted straight from china :-)

I always struggle removing Watch cases and then some trying to get them back on. So I bought this holder not really thinking it would be that good, but may help a little. Well, since it arrived, extremely quickly from China, I have used it to hold 7 different watches. Carrying out adjustments with the watch securely held is child's play. The item is sturdy and should last. Already I have saved a huge amount on shop prices and there are no scratches on any of the cases. If you ever fancied trying to do your own repairs/adjustments, then this is for you.

just what I needed although one needs to be careful with offset winders as the holder just about holds them

It does the job.A wee bit footery as with some watches you have got to remove the pin so that it will fit.

This item is study enough and can be screwed down to a workbench and works well for the average older watch.

HOWEVER, we all know how the trend is for bigger and bigger watches and the Casio G-Shock which is the first watch I used it for was at the very limit of its range. Wouldn't be any good for anything at all chunkier.

My watch size is 46mm and this holder accommodates the size. I like that you can re-position the two plastic tabs to suit the layout position of your crown. It has a standard Metric wing-nut and corresponding carriage bolt so I may replace the wing-nut with a nice brass knob. Simple device that is well made.
