U2 formed in 1978 after Larry Mullen pinned a 'musicians wanted' ad to the notice board at Dublin's Temple Mount School. Adam Clayton had discovered rock'n'roll as a thirteen year old, buying his first acoustic guitar and then talking his parents into buying him a bass guitar. 'It just sounded good to me. Deep and fat and satisfying.'

4.0 out of 5 stars U2 really wrote this? 13 April 2005
By darley
Format:Audio CD
This song pops up in the Batman film when the credits start to role. The minute I heard it I wanted to know what it was called and who sings it because it sounded really good at the time...
Waited until the last of the credits... Here are the songs... U2?!?!?!? Seriously!?!?!?
I was so surprised because I previously hated U2 and were in my top 10 artists to be blown off the planet (along with Busted, Mcfly, Eminem and The Streets).
It does NOT sound like any normal U2 song. There are actual guitars in this I think, although the keyboard could be seriously good... It's not that normal echo-y guitar thing that U2 usually do - and they don't make up words in this either like in Vertigo (it's quattro, not "quatoze"!!!) - and I think the song actually means something!
Okay, 4 stars for the song because of my prejudices. Although it is very good.

5.0 out of 5 stars Pure power 28 Sep 2000
By A Customer
Format:Audio CD
Yes, pure power. This is the first impression you have listening to this song. The guitar and bass solo bring you up in the sky following Batman in his adventures. Bono voice' is thrilling. Not the same sound of old U2 music. Enjoy it, it's beautiful.

Format:Audio CD
It is what it is. Unfortunately it is nothing more. Great title track, but the two other tracks on this single are worth nowt. Wish i'd never bought this!
