I'd buy it just for the Preface! 25 Mar. 2014
By David M - Published on Amazon.com
Format: Kindle Edition
After hearing dozen's of "experts" tell us about the game of golf in general and Ben Hogan in particular, it's exciting to read a first person account about so much more than a sport…

Excellent Story 3 April 2014

I found this to be another piece to the puzzle that was Ben Hogan. It amazes me that some of the greatest golfers alive today still state that Hogan was the best ball sticker that ever lived.

one of several very good Texas golfers 10 May 2014

I was a Houston club professional in the 1970-1998 time and remember John as a very good golfer. I thought the golf gods were against him when he outplayed Lou Graham but lost the US Open. Surprised he didn't visit Hogan in Ben's last years. I wish he would do more Golf Channel interviews. Maybe John is too blunt. But I like his frankness. A good read. Ed Sehl, PGA

A golfers book 8 July 2014

Pro has written a wonderful story about his life and career. While there are terrific excepts from his relationship with Mr.Hogan you'll also enjoy his entire personal story. I'm a Hogan disciple so please understand my immediate interest in the title but don't be misled this is a good golfers book.

Loved the book 20 Jun. 2014
By Mort Bertram - Published on Amazon.com
Format: Paperback
This is a very entertaining read. John had a very unique window in which he played, having been front row for Hogan, Snead, Palmer, Player, Nicklaus, Miller, Watson, Wadkins, ending his career when Tiger was coming in to his own. His relationship with Hogan was amazing. It is sad how we tend to forget what a great player John was. I would highly recommend this to any golfer.
