Spaced fans get this as well, 25 Mar 2003
This review is from: Ice Hockey Hair/Smoke It (Audio CD)
For anyone who likes UK rock; this is a great little EP, for all those with the albums. It's hard to find but has four top cuts. Smokin' is the only one easily attainable as it features on 'out spaced'. The title track is fantastic glam rock bonanza the song really is in its prime 6 minutes in in the outro. Excellent. The best discovery is Mu-Tron, which despite from being very glum is also on spaced series 2 where it sounds great. The final track 'lets quit smoking' is a nice acoustic based take on smokin' and is a nice come down from ice hockey hair. Ace cd.

Super Furrys at there best., 10 April 2003
This review is from: Ice Hockey Hair/Smoke It (Audio CD)
Ah, the Ice Hockey Hair ep, what a triumph. Its hard to believe these songs didn't make it to Albums (well smokin' is on out spaced) Lets face it the song ice hockey hair is the sound of a band at there best, its groovy, funky, electronic, ecletic, rocking and catchy, everything we have come to expect and adore of the furrys. Then theres "smokin", a song to get you dancing and chanting along with the guys "i just wanna smoke it" (how many times on this ep does it actually say that line?) and is a really individual SFA track but also has everything you could want from the group. Add a brilliant instrumental (which also has all sfa styles in one) and a, deserved, reprise of smokin, "lets quit smokin" and the ep is complete. Basicly it has, in three tracks, a perfect summary of what the fuzzy logic is all about, the songs are among there greatest work, and if you like it GO BUY ALL SFA ALBUMS!
