Product Description

Written in a winsome style, this volume affords a very readable and authoritative guide to the history of the Christian churches. New students of church history as well as seasoned historians will benefit from perusing its pages. Coulton has a gift for taking complicated issues and sophisticated theological questions and making them understandable without minimizing their actual complexity. He also presents fascinating anecdotal glimpses of what geographical sites look like today the very sites he is describing in the past in his panoramic sweep through church history. --John Woodbridge

This book is an absolute joy to read! It takes the reader through the history of the christian church, from the end of the book of Acts until the reformation. It is an enjoyable read, easy to understand and good fun. It is written how history should be, not stuffy or boring, but engaging and relevant to any christian!
