After reading other reviews of this book, one gets the impression it would bring little new to the table of the theist/atheist debate. There are, however, a few new arguments. One being that if God and Satan were literally true figures, Satan would win the battle for human souls. The book explains in a very clever and amusing way. The book also contains many satirical pieces, including one posing as the " New Intelligent Design Theory." If you are looking for a textbook on this subject with lots of dull footnotes, you should probably pass over this tome. But if you are looking for something different, as well as highly entertaining, I highly recommend this book.

I borrowed this ebook from a friend. I didn't know what to expect given the mixed reviews. I personally thought the book was funny and informative. Here is one of my favorite lines:

"If I ever go skydiving, I would much rather be an atheist with a parachute than a Christian with nothing but a prayer."

This is definitely a meme that could catch on. The book also has some more serious and technical portions having to do with probability and debunking ID, but even those portions are written in a lighter style than I normally encounter. All in all I thought it was an entertaining and informative read.

A short piece comprising topics, each of a few paragraphs, all of which can be read in their entirety in about an hour. Aimed at debunking fundamentalist Christian views the style is informal, trite and lazy. The topics are confined to arguments that are well-known to both atheists and Christians bringing little new to the table. There is virtually nothing to support the use of the symbols of Judaism, Buddhism and Zen on the cover
Whilst disagreeing little with the author's arguments I am disappointed to come to the conclusion that reference to the much deeper thinkers in the title of the book is purely to promote sales.
