Zoe Barnes brings together all of the elements that everyone dreads about their wedding day. There is the obligatory young couple, the well meaning, yet stressed, maternal parents and the interfering mother-in-law who, despite meaning well, manages to cause complete mayhem. Through a series of disasters, all of which are quite imaginable in the real world, the wedding plans are thrown into chaos, yet in true fiction style, it all works out in the end. A very funny book, with some genuine moments, which keeps itself firmly rooted in the real world. What makes this so good is that the characters are increadibly well-scripted and the situations well thought through. A throughly good read.
