Not cheap but these are an excellent pro-pair. 4.0 Lion batteries, even with heavy use, are lasting almost a week. Screwdriver smaller unit very powerful torque. Larger drill slightly heavier but completely professional and sturdy unit. Twist for hammer/ drill etc slightly difficult to rotate, but overall a stunning pair.

I've got through a few cheaper drills, some are fine but I have a longer term house project and needed something tried and tested for some more intensive use.

I had used Hitachi before and liked them a lot. I picked up this set and have been very pleased, the build quality is exceptional on both units, if you've not used a Lithium Ion battery drill before you'll be very pleased at the increase in power and longevity. Hitachi say they last around 3x longer than normal cells and that seems to stack up in real world use. At 18 volts these have a bit more beef than lower rated cells too.

Some of the cheaper drills I had used to cut into your hand after using them for a while, these Hitachi's are extremely comfortable to use even for extended periods of time. Something basic but easy to overlook.

Make no mistake the Hitachi's are expensive, but they are professional level tools in every respect. If you are a tradesman they should be top of your list. Light users should probably look at more mid range offerings (Ryobi are quite good and worth checking out) If you're after the last word in power drills these come pretty close to that. Considering you get 2 drills and 2 batteries, it's not actually bad value at all.
