Having loved the first two Proclaimers albums, I couldn't wait to hear this one. However, this is very much a mixed bag compasred to their earlier offerings. The style is the same-lifting Scotish harmonies and strummed guitars but some of the songs are just not up to par. The album opens with a cracker-Lets get Married-which is atypical Proclaimers material. From here on in though, things get a little choppy. Obviously penned during a difficult period of their life, the songs tend to reflect this. This isn't necessarily a problem, as songs such as "What makes you cry" prove. However, some songs seem to be fillers and I can't help feeling that if this material had come up earlier, they would have rejected it. Not awful, but not great either.
