"The Fate of 'Ferret': On 5 October Andrew Dougall reported to the Highland board that 'Mr George Smith of 14 Brunswick Square, London through Messrs Greig & Sons the company's shipbrokers, had applied for a charter of 'Ferret' for six months from 5th instant at 270 per month for a yachting expedition in the Mediterranean'. Mr Smith's wife, it appeared, was an invalid and her doctor had recommended a cruise. If anybody at Inverness saw something incongruous in 'Ferret' in the role of a private yacht he kept his opinion to himself...."
