Product Description

Product Description

A collection of six articles, focusing on the history and mystery surrounding some of the North East of England's haunted locations. Some articles take you on a 'virtual' paranormal investigation and some articles concentrate simply on the places themselves - a little taster of the North East's haunted heritage.

About the Author

Kirsty is from the North East of England and won the English Heritage/Belsay Hall National Creative Writing competition in 2009 and the Wyvern Publications Flash Fiction Competitions in 2010 and 2011. 'Skellig author David Almond has also given Kirsty excellent feedback on her work and she recently attended a Crossover Fiction workshop with David, facilitated by the Royal Society of Literature. Kirsty's children's book 'The Golbin' was critiqued very favourably by Louise Jordan in Writers Forum magazine and she has had articles and short stories published in First Edition, Peoples Friend, Ghost Voices, The Weekly News, Wyvern Magazine, Wyvern Publications 'Mertales' and 'Fangtales anthologies, Whitby Abbey's 'Pure Inspiration' anthology and Bridge House Publishing's anthologies 'Devils, Demons and Werewolves' and 'Voices of Angels', along with 'The Best of CafeLit 2011'. There will also be a story appearing in Bridge Houses's forthcoming crime anthology: all of these books are available on Amazon. Kirsty was also a judge in the Paws 'n' Claws 'Wild and Free' Children's Story competition in 2011, and her paranormal YA novel 'The Memory of Snow' was commended in the Northern Writer's Awards, shortlisted to the top five of Wyvern's novel competition in 2011 and longlisted in the Red Telephone Novel Competition in 2012. This novel has now found its way onto Amazon Kindle and Kirsty is, at present, working on another YA paranormal novel, this time set on the Holy Island of Lindisfarne and in London. Very informative and interesting. Kirsty paints a very vivid picture of the locations and their resident spectres, drawing also on her own personal experiences.

5.0 out of 5 stars Good background to the cases 14 Aug 2014

Some fascinating insights into areas that I have studied, but not in these locations. Very interesting for anyone from the North East of England or anyone who wants to know what goes on during a 'ghost hunting' expedition! Good background to the cases, personally I would have liked it to be longer!

A fabulous insight into 'Ghost Hunting' methods with no bias either for or against the existence of spirits. Some great historical background into the buildings under investigation too. Only wished they could have investigated many more buildings.

A very good accessory for anyone interested in phenomina, particularly if you live in the North of England.
