5.0 out of 5 stars A well-written, easy to read summary, 31 Aug 1999
By A Customer
For those seeking to understand the making of the Modern Middle East, this is the book to turn to. It is easy to read, informative, and supplemented by numerous maps and pictures to aid the reader. For those who have detailed knowledge of the region it probably wont shed any new light. But for anyone else, it is the place to start.
