Book Description

17 Nov 2011
You won't find dusty topics and long-dead heroes and villains in the "NG History Book". Turn the pages and you'll find documents, letters, journals, telegrams, posters, and artworks that you can literally pull out and examine. Through the pages of this book, you will explore the forces that shaped our world, from the Roman Empire and the Black Death to Hollywood and the World Wide Web; Mozart and Picasso; Genghis Khan and Gandhi; and, Hitler, Elvis, and Martin Luther King, Jr. Not an encyclopaedia or a comprehensive survey, the "NG History Book" is a storyboard of major characters, key plot point and crucial details in the moving picture of human history. It is a portal through time, a collector's showcase of historical treasures and oddities, and a scrapbook of the human family.

5.0 out of 5 stars Well done! 2 Nov 2012
By Book fanatic - Published on Amazon.com

I really enjoyed this book. As a teacher, I plan on laminating some of the replicas of the primary documents and using them in my class. This book is well done for a general overview of a vast and varied time period. The photos are great and I know that my students will enjoy looking through this fine book.

4.0 out of 5 stars Making Books Interesting 20 April 2012
By LFR2 - Published on Amazon.com

This book is full of information. My wife and I loved it. But better yet, our 6 and 3 year old boys appreciate it too! This book is full of fun stuff!! However, the cover price says $40.00, I bought it for half the price on Amazon. It is not worth the full $40.

I bought this book to give to my niece who was graduating from college with a degree in Secondary History/Social Studies. She loved it and will use it for her classes. There are pull out's of all types that are reproductions of the actual pieces... beautiful book!

I love this book. It is probably the best buy I've ever gotten in my life. It is beautifully written and came with many extra documents. Love National Geographic stuff!

4.0 out of 5 stars Great book. A must for the history lovers. 6 Nov 2013
By sushilla - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Hardcover|Verified Purchase
This is a great book. The only reason I did not give it 5 stars is because I expected more pull-outs. If you love history and relics, this is a great book to have. Holding a copy of Shakespeare's will in your hand can certainly evoke certain emotions for the literary lovers, especially since even the paper used was treated to look and feel like the real thing, tattered, old pages, stains on the writing. I suppose its as close as you can get to the real thing.
