About the Author

Elliott Johnson has served as co-editor of Studies in Marxism, the periodical of the Political Studies Association's Marxism Specialist Group, sub-editor for Global Discourse: An Interdisciplinary Journal of Current Affairs and Applied Contemporary Thought, proofreader for the edited collection The Legacy of Marxism: Contemporary Developments, Conflicts and Challenges, and organizer of Examining the Relevance of Marx and Marxism to Contemporary Global Society conference. He is in the early stages of developing a series of introductory textbooks for undergraduates studying political ideologies and their effect on society. David Walker, politics lecturer at Newcastle University, has been teaching courses on political theory, socialism, and Marxism for over 20 years. His authored publications include the book Marx, Methodology and Science, articles for the journal Studies in Marxism and a booklet on historical materialism for British A-Level students. He also edited Twentieth-Century Marxism: A Global Introduction. Daniel Gray, author of Homage to Caledonia: Scotland and the Spanish Civil War.
