Lots of really interesting details about surviving historic buildings. I have made a few very gratifying trips to check out examples. These included surviving buildings which are examples of the transition from timber framed to brick near Smithfield and seventeenth century brick terraces around Holborn. He describes both the development of historic London and how to find the surviving buildings. A great book for anyone interested in London's history or if you want to try DIY historical tours of what is still there.
