Format: Paperback
This book is packed with useful information and new insights. It has proved a great travelling companion and is well worth taking on any trip which will include a visit to a church or cathedral. I have particularly enjoyed reading about construction and historical building techniques as I have not been able to find this information elsewhere. This book is very comprehensive, and is the first that I have come across that brings together information about the construction, design and distinctive historical features of churches and cathedrals. It is clear, easy to read, authoritative and and well illustrated and I have no hesitation in recommending it.

I would recommend this book to anyone with an interest in the history of old churches. There are lots of diagrams and photos which explain the architectural terms. It would be good to take with you to consult when out visiting churches. It's not too bulky to carry!
