My 9-year-old son absolutely loves Simon Chapman's books, and I can see why. They are crammed with exciting information about the author's adventures in the world's remotest places, and it's all presented in a highly readable journal-style format. The neat drawings are done by the author, too, and there are fun quizzes dotted through the book.
This 'Himalayas' book has lots of interesting info about geography, altitude acclimatisation, mountain gear and Himalayan wildlife (including the story of the yeti). It is all beautifully presented in a style that kids find very appealing. We met Simon Chapman at a book signing and he has really been to these places so he knows what he's talking about! Buy with confidence.
