3.0 out of 5 stars A good basic guide to hillforts. 4 July 2001
By A Customer
Format:Paperback
Not really long enough or with enough background for the reader to really get their teeth stuck-in. However, it contains enough technical information to move it out of the 'Time Team tabloid archaeology' camp and into a more serious pigeon hole. Informative and easy to read, the book succeeds in offering a summary glimpse into these structures.

5.0 out of 5 stars Hill forts 27 Dec 2012
Format:Paperback|Amazon Verified Purchase
Enjoyable read as it gives the background information to the types of hill forts and their design. Focuses on several dorts in depth rather than trying to write a brief account of all the major ones.
