5.0 out of 5 stars Crumbs !, 31 Aug 2001

Pfffffff - Daft, Crass, Silly, Inspired, Peurile - just some of the adjectives that spring to mind. A damn funny album for die hard AC/DC fans. You get the joke after the first couple of tracks - but it still bears repeated listening, usually the morning after a heavy night on the beer when you fancy some AC/DC but can't quite handle the volume (or the pace for that matter). Enjoy a truely stupid idea taken to it's logical conclusion.

Ho boy. This disc and the performances on it ....
render me speechless.
I like heavy metal in moderation...certainly I like AC/DCs Big Balls (they do it better...but you can't parodize what is a parody to start with, can you?) and I also like bluegrass / hillbilly (THERE I've said it!) and this is a glorious mish mosh of the two.
Buy it. It's FUN and I LIKE IT. The CD too.

5.0 out of 5 stars Surreally brilliant, The Outback meets The Appalachians., 30 May 2001
By A Customer
What the Coen brothers did to Homer's The Odyssey, has now been done to Angus and crew.

"It'll never work" must have been repeated many times...but it does!

From the Dirty Deeds style CD cover, to the religious faithfulness to the original score, Hayseed Dixie cover the span of Accadacca favourites and take die hard rockers to places they've never been before. Previous AC/DC albums haven't deviated from a certain comfortable style but the 16th..well.. go on I dare you!

...Still I'm not sure that Cliff would be into that many notes on the bass and don't worry, style still isn't an issue.

This is a very good album. I'm tempted to check out some of there others because of it.

It's amazing how well the musical style fits to the AC/DC tunes and lyrics. Read more

4.0 out of 5 stars What angus did with his banjo next......
This is a fairly typical bluegrass album, with all the songs coming from the AC/DC back catalogue. Well worth a listen!
