I'm mystified as to why this album is only available (at present) in Amazon's 'used and new' section, while this is the first review. It had great reviews on release, has Robert Wyatt on it (who co-wrote two lovely songs as well), and is full of wonderful, life-enhancing music. The title - which I'd guess is in the sense of 'feeling high' - is delightful and completely appropriate. This is music that leaves me feeling good. And it's brilliantly played and sung, with crisp instrumentation and Monica's classy voice; you can almost hear her smiling throughout, such is the joy in this music.

There are darker moments - 'Lagrimas Negras' is quiet and rather sorrowful in mood - but far fewer than on Monica's previous album (with her paired down band Nois 4) 'Gente'. That's a wonderful album too, but 'Hih' is probably my favourite. Tracks like 'Arquitetura' are exhilarating, and although most of the songs are on the longish side, they never feel TOO long. Looking forward to more from this amazing Brazilian artist. This is slightly folky, sometimes poppy, always soulful, exhilarating jazz of a unique kind.
