About the Author

Michael was Founder and first Director of Christian Guidelines, an organisation devoted to counselling and the promotion of family life, a ministry in which Hilary also shared. Michael has also been an evangelist and missionary and in latter years served the YMCA in Belfast, first at Executive Director and then as Director of Counselling and Evangelism. Both Michael and Hilary are hugely respected for their teaching on marriage particularly in Northern Ireland where they live and minister.

I've found this book very insightful, particularly where communication had begun to breakdown in my marriage. It's quite direct and instructive and I really came to realise things about my wife that I hadn't realised before. For instance I always understood that my wife didn't think like me, but that didn't mean I understood her; this book has given a much greater insight to realise how she communicates and to respect or differences rather than be frustrated by them. Also it gave me confidence that my wife frustration with me didn't mean I was inadequate just that she communicated minor frustration differently than from me.

Highly recommended for couple on the verge of giving up
