Product Description

No need for new cabling for home or small business networking, simply plug these into your existing power sockets and you've got a network within 30 seconds throughout your whole house or your office. HomePlug adapters let you connect desktop or notebook PC, printers, modems and routers to your household power grid, transforming it into a full-featured data network. The Powerline Highspeed Ethernet Bridge is the first product to offer data transfers at up to 85 Mbps over the household power circuit. This new high-speed generation of dLAN adapters now opens up a whole new range of possibilities. In addition to extending your existing broadband connection around the house the new high-speed standard ensures that PCs can even exchange large files via the electricity supply without long delays. Even videos in DVD / HD / Blu-ray quality can be sent through the household electricity circuit for perfect streaming unlike wireless networks which suffer from severe lags. In combination with IP-TV, video on demand is an impressive experience anywhere in the home -wherever there's a power socket and you can also transfer large files or carry out heavy-weight data backups effortlessly across your existing household power circuit. The Powerline HIghspeed Ethernet Bridge dLAN is of course equipped with the tried-and-trusted automatic encryption and is fully compatible with the popular Vivo dLAN products with 85 Mbps transfer rates. As the Powerline Highspeed Ethernet Bridge adapters communicate over your existing electricity network, they are particularly well suited to old buildings and houses and these adapters don't suffer from typical WLAN obstacles like thick walls and multi-floors so you're guaranteed to get 85 Mbps high speeds all the time ! The Powerline Highspeed Ethernet Bridge Professional Kit combined with an ADSL or Cable modem router can allow all networked PCs to easily surf the Internet together

My son connects wirelessly from our router to his X box 360. I spent £50 on the MS adapter. Sometimes his signal drops so I bought 2 of these. Works straight out of the box within 2 minutes. My slight niggle is the width - if you use them on a plug board (and many of us won't have any other choice) or in a 3 way adapter you will find the unit too bulky and wide to fit. You have to leave a vacant slot as it impinges on the adjoining socket.

That aside this is high tech with low knowledge required. Great!

Now to sell that MS adapter and recoup some of my outlay.............

This product is excellent. Very easy to set up basically it is just plug and go, i did not need to use cd. The speed is stated as 85mb yet i am getting a constant 100mb( with netgear dg834gt router and 8mb broadband).
To allay some fears, i live in a new home, so have twin ring mains. One plug is upstairs in a multi plug strip adapter, the other is downstairs in a normal socket. As stated before exceeds stated speed.

My only negative, hence 4 and not 5 stars, is that the plug is slightly oversized. If you have a narrow twin plug socket you will not be able to use adjacent socket.

Delivery was rapid. Ordered 1130am arrived 0730am next day :)

Overall a great product...with good gaurantee....and speedy customer service, answered email same day.

What a genious idea.

Recently installed a pair of these in my house to get over a poor wireless link and a cable that was getting in the way on the landing!

Worked pretty much straight out of the box, but do require to be connected to 'main' plug sockets in the house, as i did try to connect these to extension leads due to there bulky nature but found it caused a poor connection and the units didnt find each other.

Am considering to purchase another single unit to add to the system to give all our home com puters a faster lan connection as the wireless router speeds are much less!

Just for a change, it's great to have a piece of IT kit that is so simple, and works!!!
I needed to work in a different room to the router and cannot move it to another room (BT faceplate has been installed due to distance from the exchange), wireless works fine in any room but when using for heavy load tasks (i.e VPN with VOIP) it started to suffer.
Now with this pair of homeplug adapters I can work all day without any issues VPN, VOIP, remote desktop etc.

This item has a lot of fake reviews. Ken Lawrence , Harry Lalwani's and John Hilton's
reviewed lot of items sold by electroworld and gave them 5 stars. Is it coincidence? Or set up by electroworld to push their products?
Amazon, please do something about this fakes! I would not buy from a company like electroworld that tries to trick customers with fake reviews in buying probaly worthless products.

I had been having trouble getting a stable wireless Connection with a Mac mini. These guys sorted everything out.

Installation could not be simpler. The included ethernet cables are also a real plus.

Fantastic product, would thoroughly recommend to anyone who doesn't need a wireless connection, and doesn't want to run cables around the house.

I bought this product to enable connection to the Internet for my Xbox 360. My Xbox sits down downstairs, but the computer, modem and router is located upstairs. I searched the internet trying to find other methods of connecting to Xbox Live without having to pay microsoft £60 for their wireless adapter!

I did come across forums explaining how to use my wireless connection in my laptop to connect my Xbox to the intenert by connecting it to the Ethernet port of my laptop..... I tried for a few days with no real luck.

So I opted to buy a pair of these powerline adapters. Works straight out the box in my setup. Plugged one in upstairs and connected the supplied cable to a port in my router and plugged the 2nd next to the xbox and connected to the xbox's ethernet port with the supplied cable and bingo, worked straight away. Additionally I have setup 'Tversity' on my PC and can now listen to all my music downstairs through the Xbox and I can stream movies from my PC through the Xbox using these Powerline connections with no problems at all, no lag, no signal dropping..... What more can I say, I extremely pleased with the product.

Received these two Vivo adaptors this morning, quicker than I expected. I managed to plug them in and connect my sons XBox to the router within minutes, which is a miracle to me as usually nothing works first time! I bought them as he was constantly losing the signal to his XBox which was connected with a Microsoft wireless adaptor in his bedroom (the router is downstairs in the living room). He has played on his XBox all morning and has not lost the signal once (peace at last). One of the adaptors is plugged into an extension cable, but still works fine. Only reservation I have is that the adaptors seem to get quite warm, and I know that Netgear have recalled one of theirs because they overheat. Hopefully this won't be the case with these adaptors, I will have to wait and see.
