Product Description

Product Description

Our mosquito nets come pre-treated with Permethrin to provide a chemical as well as a physical barrier to biting insects. Permethrin is a synthetic chemical, widely used as a long lasting insecticide and insect repellent. It functions as a neurotoxin on insects and fish but is relatively safe for most mammals so is frequently used in the impregnation of bed nets. Permethrin is highly toxic to cats and fish and you should always read the label before use.

Product Description

Adventure travellers require the strongest possible protection from insect borne diseases such as Malaria, West Nile Fever and Japanese Encephalitis. This military specification, compact mosquito net is perfect for extreme conditions to ward off the threat of landing and biting insects.

Having heard a lot about people being eaten alive in Kenya on Safaris and also the high risk of catching Malaria at the same time, i decided to buy a mosquito net to take with me. I was unsure of quite hob big this item would be, so was amazed when it arrived and was pocket size!

It may not be the largest mosquito net available but it certainly did the trick and I would recommend anyone going to Africa to take one with them!

This is hung by one central point, and is better to use if you have somewhere high to hang it, otherwise it constantly falls over your face. The hole seemed enormous but did keep out mozzies, though let in smaller insects - prob not much good at keeping at midges etc. However, in a hot climate the larger holes allowed more air to pass through, making it cooler than than the closer meshed ones.

I was hoping this would be bigger to accommodate sleeping more freely. But it does exactly what it says on the box

I bought this for my travels in India and it was just not up to snuff. There is very little room to maneuver inside, which is not helpful if you tend to move around a lot in your sleep - every time I rolled over, I couldn't help but brush against the net. The one night I used this net properly I woke up with more bites than any other night by a significant margin. Also, the bag it comes in split after one use, hardly a benchmark of quality.

Basically, maybe this would be okay for you if you were smaller and more stationary in your sleep, but in the future I intend to spend a little bit more to have better protection than what this offers.
