I watched this on BBC4 when it was first shown about 3-4 years ago and loved it then, watching it now it is just as impressive, beautifully filmed, the atmosphere was captured perfectly, the quality of musicianship was outstanding, how Mary Ann Kennedy got all this talent together and producung the most fantasic music is amazing.
It introduced me to a lot of new musicians who I now follow and buy the CD's, BBC Alba tries hard to give a platform to new Scottish talent, but the mix of Scots and Irish was an education, and my CD collection has a lot of new sounds thanks to this series.
You will not be disappointed if you havent seen this before, and if you have, its just as good as you remember it :o)
If you enjoyed the Transatlantic Sessions (which I loved) think "more local" and just slightly more watchable.
