4.0 out of 5 stars An informative and enjoyable book. 17 Jan 2013
Format:Paperback|Verified Purchase
If you've never ridden this route this book will whet your appetite. It describes the construction and scenery with sufficient detail to keep you interested without becoming bored by too much 'railway speak'.
I especially liked the description of the inaugural journey and the picture created of the desolate beauty of Rannoch Moor.
A must for anyone contemplating a trip over this world class scenic line.
