More About the Author

Born in England and now living in Canada, Ann grew up loving history, but majored in business, with history on the side. She has a husband and two lovely daughters and a Maltese Terrier called Teaser, who likes to sit on a chair beside the computer while she works.

Beginning her career as a University Administrator, her love of the past and the stories in her imagination brought her to a fork in the road.

After writing her first novel in 2000, a never-see-the-light-of-day-effort, and having her first book published in 2006, she decided to write full time in 2008 and hasn't looked back.

She loves the Georgian era, and within that, the period known as the long Regency. She also adores happy endings.

How to Capture a Ladies Heart 8 Sep 2013
By Rosemary - Published on Amazon.com
Format: Kindle Edition Verified Purchase
Niall Gilvry may be a third son with no fortune but he is a man of courage and honor. He is assigned to watch over the Lady Jenna Aleyne. He will do it to the best of his ability. The time they spend together has him falling in love with this beautiful lass. Jenna feels the same way but she has to marry well. She needs a rich husband so that she can return to Braemuir, her childhood home, and reclaim her lands. She made a promise to her dying father. Even though she loves Niall she will keep her vow. Danger surrounds Jenna. Who and why are there attempts to kidnap her? Can Niall and Jenna realize their love? Ann Lethbridge writes a wonderful and suspenseful romance. The story of Niall and Jenna is passionate and tender. All the characters in the story are so well developed and interesting that you want to hear their story. I hope we learn more about Sean, the gypsy. The plot keeps you guessing with its many twists. I know there is more to this story. I can wait to find out what happens next.

Duty vs. Honor 28 Jan 2014
By S. Frank - Published on Amazon.com
Format: Mass Market Paperback
Duty versus honor.  Jenna must marry well if she is to keep her promise to her father and claim her lands.  She can't allow herself to be distracted.  Niall is a third son and doesn't have what is needed to claim her.  Working for her guardian he is assigned to watch over her.  There have been attempts to kidnap her and when one succeeds it is up to him to rescue her.

There were parts of Jenna that I really liked.  She is very loyal to her people and is willing to do whatever it takes to return home and take care of them.  She can be a bit headstrong, which gets her into trouble when she tries to avoid Niall's protection.  Her developing attraction to him interferes with her need to pick a husband.  When they are kidnapped she has to depend on him to help her escape.  I liked the way that she remained calm throughout the entire time.  When their Gypsy rescuer takes them to her home instead of back to her guardian she is thrilled.  That happiness turns to dismay when she discovers just how bad things are.  I got very frustrated with her obsession with the house and doing anything to save it.  She couldn't see that the house wasn't as important as spending the rest of her life with a man she could love.

Niall is an honorable man who wants to do well in his new job.  He isn't very happy when he is stuck with trying to keep Jenna out of trouble.  He is very attracted to her but knows that she is far out of his reach. He really hates seeing her so intent on marrying for money that she can't see how unhappy she'd be with the wrong man.  He doesn't have a very high opinion of himself because of his secret fear, and then holds himself responsible when they get kidnapped. He knew that he was falling for her and I ached for his unhappiness as he had to watch her pick another man.  I really liked the way that he worked through his fears several times during the book in order to save other people.  I loved his protectiveness toward Jenna and the way he came through for her at the end.

There were several plot twists and turns during the book.  The gypsy seems to show up at crucial moments but it's hard to tell if he's a good guy or a bad guy.  I still have no idea what was going on with the guardian.  There is some question as to his honesty but it's not followed up on.  I didn't see anything about what happens to the bad guy after the final confrontation.

Her Highland Protector 1 Aug 2013
By P. M. Holosko - Published on Amazon.com
Format: Mass Market Paperback
In Anne Lethbridge's Her Highland Protector, Niall Gilvry is overseeing the Clan Chief's responsibilities in the Chief's absence. He is hoping to do his duty well, and receive a recommendation to an Edinburgh lawyer. This duty includes ensuring Lady Aleyne remains in the castle and causes no trouble. This responsibility is compounded by the arrival of three handpicked suitors. Suitable young men are a rarity in this part of the highlands. And Jenna has a week to choose one as her future husband.
Lady Aleyne resents the reins on her, and sets up a competition, to see which suitor is most worthy of her hand, and the title that goes with it. However kidnapping, being rescued by a gypsy and a midnight flight across the Highlands all lead to Jenna returning to the home she loved. In the time she has been away many changes have occurred, and none of them for the better.
Does she have the courage to take matters further into her own hands and see love is staring her in the face? Ann Lethbridge takes a common plight of the third son, no inheritance, no prospects and skillfully works out a solution for all. Leaving you with enough clues for a third novel in the series

A Must Read! 29 July 2013
By LeslieC - Published on Amazon.com
Format: Kindle Edition
This is the second book in the series of the Gilvrys of Dunross.

Her Highland Protector is a very sweet story filled with conflict, intrigue, betrayal and love. The book traces the store of Lady Jenna Aleyne and Niall Gilvrys and how fate brings them together no matter the many obstacles they face.
The story is narrated by both Jenna and Niall. The reader is able to get inside the thoughts and feelings of these very complex characters. There is a lot of humor expressed by both main characters throughout this heartfelt story.
This book is a very easy and enjoyable read.
Get ready to stay up late reading this must read!

The Highland Protector 4 Aug 2013
By Rebecca G. Kramer - Published on Amazon.com
Format: Mass Market Paperback
This book is just great makes you want to keep reading. Looking forward to the other upcoming books about the other two brothers Ian and Andrew. Especially look forward to the book about Andrew. In fact the first book The Lords Forbidden Lady by Ann Lethbridge was so great with the start of the story that I am so looking forward to reading the whole series as they come out the Gilvrys of Dunross. This series is a must read for readers of historical romances and people who love Scotland.
