Book Description

3 Jun 1996 Star Trek: Deep Space Nine - Young Adult (Book 8)
Jake and Nog have hit the jackpot playing holo videogames in the Amusement Arcade. An alien named Kwiltek has offered them jobs helping him run remote-controlled mining operations on a distant planet where dull mining is turned into a thrilling video game. In the "gaming room, " teams of kids work together monitoring the operations by remote control, loading cargo and defending against the most frightening "threats" they've ever seen on-screen. "Now" Jake and Nog can show their stuff! Soon they're competing with other alien kids to see who can haul the most ore.
It's the ultimate game -- "with pay!" Until the night Jake and Nog slip into the command center and see a roomful of screens displaying real-life images of a devastated world where desperate natives are under attack by fighters that look "very" familiar! Suddenly the game is over -- and the nightmare begins . . .

4.0 out of 5 stars Jake and Nog's Adventure 17 Oct 2006
A Kid's Review - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Paperback
Jake and nog live on a space station called Deep Space Nine. They love to play space arcade games. A bird like alien offers them a job playing simulation games on another planet. The boys find out that not everything is what it seems. Their adventure soon turns to a nightmare. Will Jake and Nog ever see Deep Space Nine again? The characters seemed silly. The plot was weak. It didn't grab my attention at the beginning of the book. I had a hard time finishing the book. I wouldn't recommend this to others. Other books by Kim Antilles: The Star Ghost, Arcade, Starfall, Nova Command.
3.0 out of 5 stars The Highest Score Ever 17 Oct 2006
A Kid's Review - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Paperback
My book is the Highest Score by Kem Antilles. The two main characters are Nog and Jake. Nog and Jake go to the arcade every day and play a game called the Simulator. The Simulator is a game that you have to save Deep Space Nine from a bomb. You start a very long way away from the Deep Space Nine. You also have to avoid obstacles like aliens, and meteor showers. Not even professional piolets can beat the game. Can Nog and Jake do it? You have to read the book to find out.
