Top Customer Reviews
Dr. McCully wrote the excellent "The Heart Revolution" but did not even mention his research and discovery of the powerful benefits of TMG. He deserves the Nobel Prize in medicine yet the establishment has ignored and even ostracised him. Instead they shouted to the skies about the dangers of cholesterol. Well, it turns out those with low cholesterol (yes, LOW) are more likely to suffer heart attacks! How could cholesterol, a compound that the body (liver) makes for so many uses, ever have been classified as a health hazard?! In addition to all its other uses in the body, cholesterol is a first-line ANTI-OXIDANT, and so the body produces more of it when the diet is low in the main ones (Vitamins A, C, E, selenium).
Patrick Holford writes: only modest reductions of homocysteine have been reported with combinations of B6, B9/folate (avoid folic acid, which is the synthetic version and can cause cancer), and B12 (usually 5-20% reduction). To put this in perspective, using a combination of B6, B9, B12, TMG and zinc, plus diet and modest lifestyle changes, Holford says he has often seen 50% reductions in three months.
TMG comes in tablets or capsules of 500, 750 and 1000 mg. This one is 500mg and seems expensive - there are cheaper brands on offer here (at the time of posting this review). (Do not take DMG or dimethylglycine.) Only take trimethylglycine or TMG. As Dr L Wilson writes: TMG is a vitamin-like substance. It functions as an energy booster, methyl donor and more. TMG is also called betaine because it was first isolated from sugar beets, so is relatively cheap; the powder form is cheaper but tastes bad. TMG is not the same as betaine hydrochloride, however.Read more ›
