High quality as always, Aled has got it right yet again. With the second of Aled's most recent CD's, 'Higher', Aled offers even more than with his first CD. With a good range of material which shows off his 'highly honed' vocal technique, previously borne of his sound musical grounding, Aled takes us on a journey through the brilliance of well known classics such as 'David of the White Rock', to slightly newer material 'San Damiano', all sung with the professional flourish we know we can expect of an artist such as Aled. 'Deep Peace' and 'You Raise me Up' would serve to uplift the soul of the most fervent disbeliever in Christianity, as well as painting a beautiful picture of beautiful skies and landscapes. 'Higher' is an apt title for this CD. Higher than ever, in musicality, higher in supreme variety of music and quality, presentability higher than possible. Above all Aled reaches out within this CD, giving of his own heart to the music, taking listeners on a joyous voyage with a sad ending - sad when the CD has finished playing!

I followed Aled's career when he was a young choir boy and when his voice broke I always hoped that one day he would return to stun us with his mature voice . He has certainly done that. His previous CD was great. This is even better. The way he interprets the songs is wonderful, my favourite tracks are Deep Peace and Raise Me Up. Buy Higher and be inspired.

Once again, a re-vitalised Aled Jones gives us an album for every mood. His voice is warmer, richer and more expressive than his come-back album, with highlights including a beautiful duet with Julian Lloyd Webber and track one, the up-tempo "San Damiano". Old and new Aled fans will not be disappointed, as he rounds off with a duet with himself, the touching "Dear Lord and Father".

I thought a few years ago when I bought Aled's first album as an adult vocalist 'From The Heart', it would be great if he recorded some tracks with a boy's choir, and Lo and behold he must have heard me, as here we are an enjoyable peaceful reflective album with Aled and the wonderful Libera accompanying him on a few of Higher's melodies.
Unlike most of the reviewers of his adult albums I don't share the opinon that Aled as a mature vocalist possess the range he did as a treble. I personally find if he stays within his new range as he has done with the songs on this Higher album but doesn't so always through other meduims, he has got a gentle and still very melodic pleasant voice.
'Count Your Blessings' is always a favourite of mine and Aled has done a pleasing version of it on here and I also like 'You Raise Me Up', having first heard this lovely record recorded by Josh Groban.
Higher is an ideal album to listen to relaxing in a bubble bath or when I'm sitting at my PC typing some letters.
It would be welcome if Aled were to record an album with perhaps some female sopranos next time round. Charlotte Church maybe or the sweet pure voice of Hayley Westerna?

No need for 1000 words. This CD is inspiring, calming, uplifting and good for the soul in every way. The quality of Aled's voice is pure and ear-catching.

I remember Aled so well as a boy singer ,he could,nt be faulted with his beautiful voice. Now he is a man he has the most wonderful Baritone voice. I have just purchased his CD 'Higher' and to say the least, it is a delight. How lucky we are to have Aled back singing for us,and the songs and hymns he sings are our favourites for all time. This is the 3rd CD I posses now of the adult Aled Jones, incuding'HIGHER' 'ALED' and 'WHENEVER GOD SHINES HIS LIGHT' and I look forward to owning any more produced and released in the future. The music arrangements also are excellent .

Having followed Aled's career for nearly 18 years, I can honestly say that this is Aleds best album to date since that famous voice broke many years ago! He's also on tour at the moment with this album and having seen him on 2nd October 2003 at Basingstoke, I can honestly say that he's still got the magic after all these years. Buy this record, you will not be disappointed!

Twenty years or so ago we were all captivated by the magical voice of a young boy from North Wales - perhaps the best boy treble ever. In the past, such artistes have tended to disappear or drop back into mundane performance. When we hard a year ago that Aled was to produce his first "grown-up" album, I suppose many of us thought that it could never recapture those exceptional and very special qualities he had shown as a boy. How wrong! That album - "Aled" - was a brilliant success and demonstrated that the spcial quailities he had shown as a teenageer were still there. It was no suprise that this record went straight to No.1 in the classic charts - and has stayed in the top 20 for most of the past year. A hard act to follow. However, this new album is, if possible, even better. To sit back and listed to the moving rendition of "Dear Father" - which is sung a duet with Aled as man and boy, it to hear something very special. Who cannot be moved by such consumate artistry. I'm sure that this will be yet another No.1 and hope that there are more to come! To those of us of an older generation, Aled has brought pleasure for some two decades. I believe that a new generation will discover the the unique qualities of this new album - which I cannot recommend to highly.
