Embryology is a difficult subject and this book clarifies the essential principles of embryology needed at USMLE level with many helpful diagrams. It's a better book than some of its sisters in the same series. You could argue that the level of detail is a little higher than is necessary for the exam (in my exam there was only one embryology question out of 300), but the book has useful sections which include information on how the embryologic mechanisms it describes are clinically relevant to disease processes and congenital anomalies.

Even if you're not sitting the exam, the book is a great introduction to embryology, and would be particularly useful to paediatricians.
