Product Description

Double bill of two MGM musicals from 1956. 'High Society' is a musical re-make of 'The Philadelphia Story' starring Grace Kelly as socialite Tracy Lord who, even as she prepares for her second marriage, still has obvious feelings for her ex-husband (Bing Crosby). She has also struck up a friendship with a reporter (Frank Sinatra), who has been sent to cover her society wedding. 'Singin' in the Rain' is the classic Stanley Donen musical, starring Gene Kelly.

Although Sinatra's acting career on a whole was seen as quite weak, High Society is perhaps on of the most highly under-rated musicals ever. But its mix of witty scripts, humours happings and all time classic songs........its up there with the best. And with cast including - Bing Crosby as C.K. Dexter-Haven, Frank Sinatra woundefully playing a noisy reporter with his boyish charms, Grace Kelly as Tracy Samantha Lord (Bings ex-wife) in her last screen performance, but non the less a brillant performance and finaly Armstong finishing of this master piece with superb musical class. I give this film FIVE STARS, for the all round fun of the film, pure musical enjoyment and family entertainment. Songs Included - "What a swell party", True Love", "Now you has Jazz" and the classsic "Who wants to be a millonaire".
So if you take High Society, and put another musical on a double VHS, what better choice then Singing in the rain. WHAT A CLASSIC!!! i love this film, with its classsical dance scenes that make you wish you had Gene's skill. And what better actor the Gene Kelly.....with his ice melting smile and the look of enjoyment he gets from doing the dancing makes it seem 100% real, and with Donald O'Connor's hilarious acting and classic lines makes the film just beautiful!!. Also staring Jean Hagen as the beautiful, yet dangerous blonde to add "jazz" to the whole film. One of my favourite films of all times, you can watch it any time, of any day........and in any mood - cause after you've watched it theres no doubt you wont be able to stop smiling.
So with these to classics on ONE...yes thats ONE video, you would be stupid not to buy it!!!.
High Society + Singing in the rain -> In frank and Bings words "What a swell party"
