A Shriek Show triple feature, you can rarely go wrong with these boxsets and they're usually quite cheap, this particular boxset features "Hitcher in the Dark" a late 80's film by Umberto Lenzi, a young man kidnaps a woman intending her to replace his mother who once abandoned him but judging by his past hostages she'd best get away quick, her boyfriend is hot on the trail and the girl tries constantly to escape but with little luck, I'm not going to ruin the ending but will say I agree with Lenzi that his intended ending mentioned in a bonus interview sounded better than what producer Joe D'Amato had Lenzi shoot in the end, all in all not a bad film though.

Next is "The Majorettes", this one is insane, it starts out as a standard slasher film involving someone killing majorettes and for the most part follows through as one but an hour into the film things go off at a tangent as the school junkies and the popular kids go to war trimming the survivors numbers down very fast without the killer even getting involved, this might sound daft but it actually works in the films favour and puts it a little above being just another predictable slasher, all in all its worth seeing though not brilliant.

Lastly "Hell High", the school troublemaker joins up with the ex-jock and they and two others get involved in a prank on an attractive but jittery teacher, quite predictable in places but has some great scenes that you wouldn't expect and overall is quite entertaining, worth watching, by the way I learned that a small scene is missing from the movie involving someones jumper being stolen, its a DVD screw-up and apparently all copies have this problem, anyway you don't miss anything important but it is a little annoying that this wasn't corrected.

Overall the boxset is well worth getting as although the films aren't masterpieces they're all enjoyable and worth the watch if you'd like a night in with some 80's slasher films.

Right Good Set 22 Sept. 2010
By Cass G - Published on
I enjoyed Majorettes, it was a well done low budget slasher, didn't care for Hitcher in the Dark too much it was kind of slow, but the real treat here is the full length Joe Bob Briggs commentary over Hell High, he made a somewhat entertaining slasher in to top notch laugh out loud riot, fans of Joe Bob will definitely want to pick this one up.

A Tripple Slaughter 29 Nov. 2009

A tripple horror to put together.Let me start with Hell High.A good intro at the begining. as the little girl sings along a path as she walks to her playhouse area and sees a shocking moment when this guy doesnt treat his girlfriend right and as they leave she throws a bucket of mud in the boyfriends face gets out of control on his motorbike and they both get killed. This hidden guilt is in the childs consious right into her adult life as a teacher. The teachers name is miss storm , dealing with her students is no picnic either. One leader of a group character Dickens wants to get back at her.Played by actor Christopher Stryker. He lures another guy whos not football material anymore a stuffed shirt nice student to join his group.Pranks happen at the teachers home.Mayhem starts to begin. I had this movie on Vhs at the time.On the dvd a part is missing.the cafe scene. When cha cha the guy Dickens lures in takes the quarterbacks jacket and they try to frame him in their crime scene. You viewers see what happens at the end.The Majorettes is also related to football and cheerleaders and theres a crazy guy killing them off. This movie takes place in a religious town.People that are religious fanatics. To do with siners. This sort of relates to a clue of these murders. The next third how it relates to high school its beyond me.Its march break theres a pathisist disturbed guy traveling around the beach of Virgina in his camper and picks up these woman that remind him of his mother. Comes from a very rich backround. But disturbing.I wanted this set because I wanted the movie hell high. These two movies came with it as a box set.A slasher to enjoy and how the other two relate to football.

3 unwatchable movies 7 Sept. 2006

As a fan of the horror genre, I can put up with and stomach alot. However, I can't sit through 3 crappy movies in a row. I just won't do it and you can't make me. I did give it a try though for this boxed set but it wasn't a trilogy of horror but rather a trilogy of garbage. I should have known better...
