High Life (1983) is a single by 1980's salsa band, Modern Romance. The song reached #8 on the UK chart and was one of four top ten hits, seven top twenty hits for the band. High Life is taken from the studio album, Trick of the Light (1983), which reached #53 in the UK, and the compilation album, Party Tonight (1983), which reached #45. The song is available on vinyl, cassette, CD, and digital MP3. In 2006, Modern Romance: The Platinum Collection was released on CD and MP3; High Life can be found on this album. High Life is written by David Jaymes and John Du Prez and produced by Tony Visconti. The genre is new wave and electronic, the style jazzdance, disco, and pop, more mainstream 1980's pop than the signature Latin style Modern Romance used on tracks like Everybody Salsa (1981).
