I downloaded this to my kindle because it was free and didn't have very high expectations, but I'm very pleased to say it did the trick!
I have a few books on CV writing and thought my CV was pretty good until I read this. Based on the recommendations, I totally re-vamped my CV and managed to get 3 interviews and a job offer with a top company within 6 weeks which is a record for me, it usually takes me an average of 3 months to find a new role.
For me, the most useful advice was :
1) Strip out any irrelevant information
2) Tailor your CV for each role, showcasing only the achievements/skills that are most relevant to the role in question
3) Frame your achievements in a way that demonstrates and quantifies your value-add
The above also helped me to focus my thoughts and naturally caused me to tailor my approach in interviews.
I was also shocked to realise that most people don't read your whole CV so if the first half of the first page doesn't grab the hiring manager's attention you can forget it...
In summary, great book, highly recommended and better than other books that I've paid for.
