High Heels is another mad venture into the mind of Pedro Alomodovar and carries all his famous trademark issues of cross dressing, murder and complicated relationships into one great movie. Classic Almodovar, if you love the styling and oddball subjects covered in his movies then you will love this one.

As you would expect from Almodovar, a twisted plot, entangled relationships, dry humour, gorgeous women, (Victoria Abril) and, of course, a transvestite!
The music is just awesome! Even some 15 years after seeing this for the 1st time, the music, and the singing still get to me!
This is one of my all-time-favourite films.... of all time!

Why is this film so hard to find? Any search for it brings endless links to Minnie Driver's High Heels and Low Life and even the Almodovar box sets don't seem to include it? Even here on Amazon it is only available through external sellers..WHY?? It's my favourite of his films. Funny, sexy, touching. It has drag queen cops, Victoria Abril as a newsreader announcing the murder of her husband, the usual Almodovar mummy issues. Very accessible, pretty camp and slightly insane!

Almodovar
Great Almodovar from the early years. A must have for all his fans and also, a nice way to track down his evolution over the years, up to Broken Embraces.
