About the Author

Ex-National Hunt Champion Jockey John Francome is a broadcaster on racing for Channel 4 and is fast establishing himself as one of the front runners in the racing thriller stakes. He lives in Berkshire.

Fast and easy read 20 April 2002

John Francone does not disappoint his audience with this thriller set as usual in the racing world. Our hero is a jockey with a secret in his past that a blackmailer uses to his advantage. There are thrills and spills both on and off the race course, with a bit of circus activity thrown in. Despite the twists and turns the scenario is most convincing. Francone is a worthy competitor for Dick Francis and I recommend this read to anyone who likes adventure with a little romance thrown in, not to mention the racing scene.
