Oddly, for someone who once had such a major international hit (with "The Lady In Red", of course), de Burgh plays out his almost folk-y rock music to fanatical, almost cult-size audiences nowadays. Maybe it's for the best. For it's in the live setting that de Burgh's own distinctive brand of soft rock--full-on narratives full of climatic themes, painted with broad sweeps of emotion--really comes into its own. Stand-outs here include "Spanish Train"--a Paradise Lost for the late 20th Century--and its fellow Spanish Train And Other Stories track, the haunting "A Spacemen Came Travelling". High On Emotion is a good place as any to catch the de Burgh live experience. --Everett True

High on Emotion, Live From Dublin is a fantastic CD, one of my personal favourites! It includes some of his best known songs including Lady In Red and Borderline. It was recorded at the RDS stadium in Dublin in a 10 month sell out world tour. It is a CD that you should go for. When it was released, you were also able to get the VHS and LP of it, both of which are now unfortunately unavailable. Chris de Burgh is a fantastic artist who deserves more credit than he gets. You don't need to think about buying this album, you just do it! When I bought it, I was worried about it being rubbish but I was wrong and have never looked back on buying it ever!

This was a great concert and Chris de Burgh sang all my favourite songs but there were a couple that I can't stand which he included (Spanish train and Risen Lord)that interrupted the flow for me.His backing group are tremendous and the audience made a lively contribution to a live recording with high quality sound reproduction.But I could never prefer this over his best production,Into The Light,which I would recommend to anyone who hasn't heard Chris before.
