This book is the bible for anyone who has the spirit of Dartmoor, "The Last Great Wilderness" burned deep in their soul. Eric Hemery's desire to interprete the minutiae of every undulation in the ground, the course of waterways and the positions of pieces of granite is mindblowing. My favourite book.

This book must have been an absolute labour of love for Eric Hemery. Well written and accessible and incredibly thorough, the text is interspersed with photographs. Highly recommended for anyone wants to know all about the 'moor or a gift for someone who will appreciate it.

Read High Dartmoor to acquire expert knowledge of the Last Wilderness, this book is a life's work of Eric Hemery - the author. In it he uses all of his considerable talent to describe the people and landscape of Dartmoor, a place that held his heart and soul. Buy it, it is the best book of it's kind.
