If you are thinking of buying this book hoping to find out dark, hidden secrets from the vaults of the Vatican, then you will be disappointed. Regardless of the title, there are very few mentions of the Vatican. In fact it only features in one of the chapters on the three objects discussed here.
There are histories of the Holy Grail, the Ark Of The Covenant and the Turin Shroud and the Vatican is only mentioned in the Ark story. That doesn't mean to say that this book isn't interesting because, for the most part, it is. The section on the Turin Shroud is OK but it deals far too much with the frankly unrealistic theory about the Shroud being created by Leonardo Da Vinci. Another problem is there are quite a few typing errors with a few examples of words not being seperated correctly and sentences not correctly sequenced. This gives the book a feeling of being cheaply produced and it should have been proof read much better. Also, a few photos or sketches would have helped.
Still, this book is generally OK if you want to learn more about the objects featured and it nearly scores four stars but just falls short.
