About the Author

Educated at Wadham College, Oxford, David was a television documentary director and scriptwriter for more than 20 years, working in the U.K. and North America. He is now a full-time writer, based in the Yorkshire Dales, and has published more than 30 titles covering a wide range of travel, leisure and local history topics. Since joining the Travel Publishing editorial team in 1997 he has written guides covering the North East of England, the Heart of England, Lancashire, Cheshire, Lincolnshire, the Lake District, Devon, Yorkshire, the Highlands & Islands, Norfolk, North East Yorkshire, Ireland and Scotland.
