Book Description

16 Oct 2012 House of Night (Book 10)

I'd known it before we saw the fire trucks and the smoke. I'd known all hell had broken loose at the House of Night the moment it had been proven beyond all doubt that Neferet was on the side of Darkness. Only now I had a terrible feeling that outing Neferet would serve more to free her than to force her to pay the consequences for her lies and betrayals.

At last, Zoey has what she wanted: the truth is out. Neferet's evil has been exposed, and the High Council is no longer on her side - but she's far from done wreaking havoc in the vampyre world.

With the seeds of distrust sown and Darkness breeding chaos at the House of Night, everyone must band together - but that's proving to be more difficult than ever before. The twins are barely speaking and the House of Night's former enemy, Kalona, has now become their warrior, pushing their trust to the limits. To top it all off, Zoey is pretty darn sure she might be losing her mind - she saw something when she looked at Neferet's minion, Aurox, through the Seer Stone that she can hardly explain to herself, let alone her friends. Zoey knows that following her instincts might be just what they need to defeat evil... but if she's wrong, it could cause the destruction of those closest to her.

With the tension at a breaking point and friendships on the line, can the nerd herd come together to stop the spread of Darkness before it's too late?

Book Description

The series has sold over a million copies in the UK already, but the next chapter of the House of Night story is set to be the biggest yet. With action, intrigue, and spicy romance, Zoey is back fighting the forces of darkness - after all, that's what being a bad-ass vampyre High Priestess is all about...

2.0 out of 5 stars One book too many 8 Nov 2012
Format:Kindle Edition|Amazon Verified Purchase
Unfortunately I have to agree with some of the other reviews I have seen.

The House of Night Series used to be my absolute favourite vampire series, but this book has definitely let me down. It seems to be just a book for the sake of writing a book, and not about coming to any sort of conclusion.

3.0 out of 5 stars Needed More 21 Oct 2012
Format:Hardcover|Amazon Verified Purchase
After reading the other 9 books, I was looking forwarded to reading the 10th.
Unfortunately I was left feeling that there needed to be more book and not just the length but the story too.
Though the story read well, there was only one part, which made me think about my poor maine coon that had any affect on me.
I feel it could have done with alittle more action and alittle less riding on the bus.
I am yet to decide whether I will buy number 11 as this one left me feeling alittle deflated.

2.0 out of 5 stars Same old, same old, jaded and dissapointed. 17 Oct 2012
Format:Kindle Edition|Amazon Verified Purchase
I will try to keep this review as spoiler free as possible.. As soon as the announcement came, I had this book on pre-order, and I've been waiting for quite a while for it, so, when it downloaded I dug right in.

Unfortunately I was greatly dissapointed. It's all premise without any payout. Nothing.. really happens in this book. It's all *development* and as such, it goes slowly, and at the end, very little has changed from the beginning. It felt preachy, and throughout I had a feeling of reading recycled material.

##Please note there is a VERY disturbing scene involving one of the cats. It left me feeling upset, and slightly sickened##

I honestly feel that about 2/3 of this book could be cut and you'd not notice any difference. The same expressions are used, the same things happen to the same people within the story. I'm bored. I hate to say it, but this is a series that has gone on for 2 extra books too long. How many more books are going to be milked out of this series. End it, and give us something else for the gang to battle!

The only reason I did not rate this one-star is there were a few redeeming scenes that felt fresh and original, but in general.. it's an author beating a dead bush.

I'm sad to say that I will not be purchasing number 11, or any further 'spin offs' of the series. However there are two other good mini-series written by PC Cast that are amazing, and would highly recommend them.
