Christine Feehan explores the bonds of sisterhood and magic in her enchanting Drake Sisters series. In HIDDEN CURRENTS, the stakes are raised as the fate of all seven Drake sisters depends on the destiny of one.

Product Description

From afar, Sheriff Jackson Deveau has always loved Elle Drake, the youngest telepath of seven magically gifted sisters. After a long time away she's finally returning home to the small coastal village of Sea Haven. But someone has been following Elle, someone who doesn't want her to make it back. And when Elle fails to arrive, her disappearance strikes fear in the hearts of everyone who loves her. Now it's left to Jackson to uncover the mystery of Elle's vanishing, and rescue her from an unseen danger. But Sea Haven is no longer safe for anyone, and it'll take the powers of all the Drake sisters and their men to survive the coming storm.

Let me just say that I have been a HUGE Christine Feehan fan from the day I picked up her first book Dark Prince and was hooked. I have all her books in both paperback and hardback (from Dark Celebration onwards), in ebook and audio book. I have re-read and listened to them countless of times.

But I have to ask... WTF??? Is Feehan suffering from a brain tumor or something? Seriously? THIS is a romance novel? I would never rate a book like this as a romance novel. People usually read them as a pleasant escape from reality and a few hours of stress free enjoyment.

I was HUGELY disappointed in Hidden Currents. Apart from the rushed ending, I hated the way Feehan horrifically brutalized the lead female character and the subsequent unrealistic way she dealt with the whole issue of the recovery process. I was unable to read through chapters 3 through 5 and just skimmed through it. Was it REALLY necessary to go into graphic detail of Elle's torture? I won't go into details so as not to spoil it for those who actually want to read the book.

I had such high hopes for this book as an ending to the Drake Sisters series but no such luck. I already had a little inking after reading the 1st chapter online that this book would be disturbing but I never imagined it would be as bad as it turned out to be. I had the same problem with Deadly Game where the lead female character was also abused and having a selfish alpha male as lead does not help matters.

Truth to be told, if the next few books turn out to be like this one, I may stop buying her books altogether until such a time that the storylines improve.

great!! 14 July 2009
Format:Paperback
I disagree with the other reviewers, I too love christine feehan books and have them all,the book may have been different but no less enjoyable the scenes about elle's capture were not what you expect but the fact Jackson went through capture and torture and could identify with what she was going through only making them stronger, She was the sister with the biggest burden of all the powers and needed a man who would take her on along with her sisters and there men. Jackson's a man who is tough but has a soft side when it comes to the Drakes and their town. I agree the ending could have been longer but that's because I didn't want the story to end and wouldn't have minded an epilogue to let us know a bit about what happens to them in the future. Here's to CHRISTINE FEEHAN she can't write fast enough for me.

Just like the first reviewer, I had been eagerly awaiting the release of this book, but boy was I deflated! The book was a torment to read, honestly, i find myself shaking my head every time I think of it.
I am an avid feehan fan, red and re-red all her books, so I'm not squeamish or by any stretch of the imagination a prude; hey I read Lora Leigh's books. But I draw the line at the heroine being dis- vargined by a rapist!!!! I kept putting the book down and just like the previous reviewer; I skipped so many chapter just to see how it end. Before anyone writes in about how realistic the scenes were, stop! When I pick up a romance book, I want fluff, not realism; I want all enduring, all conquering love, not gritty, rape and torture scenes! If I wanted that, I read the newspapers, ok?!
If she wants to go the Linda Howard way and move from writing romance, then she should just do it, not mess with people's head on the way!!! Sheesh!!!!

Great book
A great book to finish with in the Drake sisters family. It is also quite dark though as the ordeal Elle goes through is horrendous but Jackson is a perfect partner for her. Read more

Sad let down.
Whilst I haven't read the rest of the novels in the Drake Sisters series I have to say that if this is an example of Christine's writing I won't be going back in a hurry. Read more
